The Secrets of Finnish Sauna Design 2nd edition and German translation published
Within the past five weeks, I have witnessed two happy book events. In December 2025, a revised 2nd edition of The Secrets of Finnish Sauna Design came out. Now, on January 15th, 2026, the German translation of the same book became available. All books are available on Amazon and at select other outlets in paperback, hardcover, and ebook versions.
What has changed for the second edition?
This new edition of The Secrets of Finnish Sauna Design includes numerous pages of new content, several minor corrections, and new information, including two completely revised reference tables.
The number of pages remains, although there are fewer blanks, and some illustrative pages were removed.
The update is primarily focused on the North American audiences to use more consistently compatible terminology. For instance, the new edition examines the specific features associated with UL 875-compliant electric sauna heaters.
While, fortunately, no major mistakes have been found in the original edition, I thought that, after four years, enough had changed to warrant a new edition. Also, my understanding of some details has evolved, which made me feel I had an obligation to make the most of this book.

For my Finnish customers, I am happy to let you know that a special hardcover edition will be available through the Saunologia.fi store in February. The rest of the world has to take it to Amazon stores.
